Use this guide to upgrade or replace the solid-state drive in a MacBook Pro 15” Mid 2015. This MacBook Pro uses a proprietary storage drive connector, and is therefore not compatible with common M.2 drives without the use of an adapter. Before you perform this repair, if at all possible, back up your existing SSD. I have a macbook pro retina mid 2015 which I upgraded whit a ssd from owc called aura. Everything worked fine also whit os x sierra 10.13.2.
But now I can't boot the os anymore. What I tried:
- reinstall from the Internet whit ctrl cmd shirt r -> I can run the Installation Program but can not select the ssd. I'm also unable the format the ssd in the hard drive utlility but when i run a check whit the disk utility every thing is fine.
- start up in verbose mode: disk 1: I/O error and HID:Legacy shim 2 then reboot.
Owc Aura Pro 6g Ssd
It seems that the ssd is broke. Ok this can happen but it happened now for the 3 time ... is there something I don't know about this owc drive? this is not normal. Is there some check I can run to be sure that the ssd is broke?
Tanks for your answers and hints.
